quilts for baby, first day of school, & fun at the museum

Ok, I finally finished making stuff for the baby. I probably should have started a little bit earlier, but really, who has much time to sew?? Anyway, this is Casen's baby carrier cover. Of course, as soon as I started this one I found different fabric that I love. I will have to make another one soon. (this is my attempt at copying the "pop star" bedding that babies R us sells)

This is Casen's baby quilt-- not my favorite and a little girly, but finished. I really had a hard time finding fabric to use for this. Not only is it not my favorite, but I accidently sewed right through my finger with the sewing machine while quilting it! FUN!! Luckily my husband yanked the big old needle for me. Yikes!

I do love the super soft back of the quilt!

Oh my goodness!!! When did my Keagan get old enough to go to school??? I think I was more excited about the big day than he was. This is Keagan just before we left with his first homework assignment. What a big kid!
Keagan and his new teacher answering the question of the day.

Notice all the kids in the background staring like deer in headlights, it was hilarious!!

After school we went to McDonalds to celebrate! Keagan has been asking for star wars toys at McDonalds for weeks. Apparently, he has decided that anything starwars makes you cool- oh goodness!!
Yesterday Grammy D came over and we headed to the Dino museum. So busy and crazy, but we had a blast!

My handsome little toothless Joe.

We can't just sit on the triceratops, we have to eat him???
Big thanks to Grammy D for coming all the way to play with us. We needed a fun day out before life revolves around little maniac #4! We can't wait!!

Final days of summer :(

Last week we decided to kick off the last week of summer with a family swim. It was a beautiful day and we had a blast! (well, maybe until Camden's TWO layers of swimmy diapers leaked a beautiful brown streak down the baby slide and cleared the big pool--oops!!)

The boys love having Kelly throw them across the pool, poor Kaid was showing a little more than expected as he got thrown!
My little fish- really he thinks he can swim. I love it and it scares me to death at the same time!

Keagan and Kaiden love that they can go down the big waterslide by themselves. I love it too!!

Tuesday we went to the farm (along with the rest of Utah County), the cows were extra friendly and the kids had a blast feeding them.

Camden was super excited about all the baby bunnies, so cute!

Another friendly cow kept licking Camden's knee- he wasn't so much loving that.

We are super excited for this week- Keagan's first day of school and a new baby, but it's so sad to say goodbye to summer!!

Back to school day with grandma, girls night out, and a super fun trip to walmart

Camden gave Keagan and Kaiden transformer and spiderman shaving kits for his birthday. The boys shave several times a day. Good thing they are keeping all those dang whiskers away!

The other day Keagan came and got me and said, "Mom, Kaid is playing in the water." this is major no no in our house because the boys get a little out of control. So as I walk toward the bathroom (door closed) I said, "Kaid, are you playing in water?" I open the door as he says, "no mom! It wasn't me!!!" Hmm, all evidence to the contrary! I am a little nervous about this kid!

This is what I get for thinking a mom of three boys can wear white pants! This little handprint was so perfect, I couldn't resist a picture

Camden just chillin in the bathtub. (one of his favorite places ever!) Maybe a little too relaxed!

a sweet moment with the boys. They were so cute taking such good care of Cam

On Tuesday my mom came and picked up Keagan and Kaiden to have a back to school lunch. They went out to Wingers and then to see the incredible hulk. Maybe not so much for young kids, but it was the backup plan since the Dinosaur museum had a line all the way to China. When Abomination appeared on the screen Keagan screamed out "Oh man, I have waited my whole life to see him!!" We had loads of fun with five kids 7 and under running around the theatre. Good stuff!

My cute mom made these back to school bags filled with school supplies for all the school age grandkids.

We wrapped up the day at Grandma's house where they got to watch Super Mario Brothers in Grandma's bed. Super huge thanks to super grandma!!

My cute mom and sister Lori and I decided we deserved a night out. We went to Bon Lossee (sp?) for scalp treatments which is always wonderful! Lori got the super treatment with two girls styling her hair.

Mom with her straight hair that looked so cute but was driving her nuts.

After hair we headed over to Mimi's Cafe where mom treated us to yummy dinner. (Don't worry that it only took us about 15 min to decide where to eat, we are pathetic!) After dinner we partied it up crazy style looking at baby stuff and shopping for fabric. We are hard core! So sad that we finally had a night out and we were too tired to do anything, but it was so much fun to just be together! I wish the rest of the girls could have been there too!!

This is my tired little baby after a super fun trip at walmart. The picture doesn't even do the shopping experience justice. I will just give you a taste of the fun Cam was at the store today...
First thing we got hair gel that cam opened and smeared all over his hair (that's when I buckled him in the front of the cart)
Next he reached back and opened the danimal yogurt drinks and girgled yogurt everywhere!! (Floor, clothes, groceries, yum!)
Then he decided it would be so fun to dump the entire dozen eggs everywhere- thank you! my favorite mess!
Finally we got in the car to go home and he reached over and tore open the brownie mix that he thought he should probably shake all over the car.
Did I mention how much I love shopping with my kids!! (Keep in mind that Keagan and Kaiden are running circles around the store as Camden is trashing it!)
Can't wait to take all FOUR of them shopping!
I really should get paid to buy groceries!

Camden's birthday party in crazy weather, what's new??

It started out as a beautiful day, sunny sky, warm weather, balloons, cupcakes, etc. Then the friends started to come and so did the storm. I don't know what it is about my kids birthday parties, but I cannot throw a party without extreme wind or rain.
-

My cute little niece Addie

Heather, Lisa, Janet, Me, and Summer... some of my very loyal friends who come to these crazy parties even though they know they will either blow away, get rained on or freeze. Thank you, I love you all!!

Don't worry that a crazy storm that blew the party away... it started out great for Camden with a wasp stinging him between the eyes twice!! Anything else??

Kids are great! Luckily they didn't seem to mind the weather, they played anyway. With help from mom and Summer, the kids jumped and jumped on the bubble wrap before it blew away. So cute!

Look at those big two year old "Hulkie muscles" so tough!!

Good bye party! Thaks to everyone for all your help in recovering what we could.

Very resourceful boys! They grabed the bubble wrap and used it for shelter so that they could still play in the rain.

My cute little birthday boy!

Gotta love it!! Huge thanks to everyone who came to the party and braved the storm! It got too crazy to even open gifts at the party, but Cam and the boys had a blast opening gifts at home. They all loved everything, so thank you friends!!! Who knows, maybe we will get snow on Keagan's birthday! If anyone's lawn is looking brown, let me know and I would be happy to plan a party in your yard!
